Lila is an artist and mother of four from the Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea who enjoys making bilum. She learnt how to make bilum from her mother at the age of ten and has been making and selling them at the local markets since. Her products are original and come in different sizes for different purposes. These products include traditional bilum dresses, traditional bilum caps, traditional headbands, traditional head dresses, traditional bilum fishnets and traditional bilum arm bands. Lila lives 56 kilometers from her city, and she travels in by dingy which costs Lila money each day. Building a successful business will not only allow Lila to make an income for her long-term benefits but support her children.
